COVID-19 PROCEDURES – UPDATE MARCH 2022
As you are aware the government has fully relaxed all covid regulations. Covid has not yet gone away, so at Rhomboids Sports Massage we will continue to follow the guidance provided by my Professional Association, The SMA.
The SMA advise continuing good practices including ventilation, high hygiene standards, risk assessment and covid screening. This policy aims to maintain the safety of all clients, other users of the clinic and myself.
Isolation – Although the legal requirement to isolate no longer stands, the advice is to avoid close contact with others for 5 days after a positive test. I would therefore ask that you rearrange your appointment outside this time frame and when you feel fully well. I too, will not provide treatments if I am unwell or potentially infectious.
These are the key points, see below for further details.
- Therapist in Full PPE (I may ask for your agreement to not wear a visor)
- Therapist at least twice weekly lateral flow testing
- Client requested to wear mask/face covering
- Ventilation during and after
- High levels of cleaning
- Hygiene protocols – hand sanitizer
- Clean linen for each client
- Pre-Screening Form prior to every appointment
- Client and therapist to cancel should they feel unwell
Note change regarding Clinic 33 Reception area:
- Reception use at client’s own risk – other Clinic 33 users and therapists are being given the choice of whether to wear a mask. You may wish to choose to wait outside or arrive just before your appointment time.
I thank you for your understanding and compliance, which allows me to continue treating you in the safest possible way.
Full Policy:
As you would expect some changes have been made in view of Covid-19. These have been made with guidance from the Government, my professional association, The Sports Massage Association, and my insurance company. They aim to keep you and me as safe as possible.
A full risk assessment has been carried out, reviewed, and is updated regularly. This has impacted the cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures which have been put into place.
All clients are required to complete a COVID-19 Screening form prior to their appointment. This is to comply with insurance and Public Health England guidance. No treatment will be provided if the form has not been completed and returned. Clients are requested to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment.
As normal I ask that you do NOT attend your appointment if you feel unwell in any way (including colds, coughs, tummy bugs etc); but especially if you have Covid-19 symptoms (temperature, cough, loss of taste or smell, fatigue, sore throat, head ache and snotty nose, etc). Your appointment can be re-arranged for when you feel well again. The legal requirement to isolate has been removed, however it is advised that you avoid contact with others for 5 days after a positive test. I would appreciate it if you could rearrange for outside this time period and when you feel fully well again. I will respect these guidelines and not provide treatments while unwell or potentially infectious.
The treatment room, all equipment and myself will be kept clean and sanitized. Some extra time continues to be allowed between appointments for everything to be cleaned down and the room ventilated. All linen (couch cover and towels) will be replaced after each client and washed professionally.
I will be wearing a mask, (visor as needed), apron and gloves during your appointment and you will wear a mask throughout too. This provides each other with protection. You will not notice the gloves and they do not have any negative effect on your treatment.
Social distancing will be maintained where possible and the avoidance of extended periods of face to face conversation. Pre appointment consultation takes place by phone or video call and home care may be sent via email after the appointment.
Full details will be sent to you when you book your appointment. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch.
